On September 24, 2021, Caroline D. Ciraolo participates in a panel entitled “Ethical Considerations for Former and Current Government Tax Attorneys” for the American Bar Association Section of Taxation's Virtual Fall Meeting. The meeting is a five-day event led by the country's leading tax attorneys and government officials, discussing the latest federal, state, and local tax policies and more. Description: This panel examines an attorney’s professional obligations relating to the “revolving door” of entering or leaving the federal government.  The discussion focuses on a number of ethical issues for tax attorneys to consider including, among others, conflicts of interest, the duty of loyalty, and the duty of confidentiality.  The panelists also cover the post-employment restrictions that impact attorneys looking for or switching to a new job.
