American Bar Association's 39th Annual National Institute on White Collar Crime


On March 6, 2024, Caroline D. Ciraolo speaks on a panel titled "Criminal Tax Enforcement - The Powers and Perils of Parallel Criminal and Civil Investigations" at the ABA's 39th Annual National Institute on White Collar Crime. Parallel investigations involving the IRS and federal tax matters by different state or federal government entities have become common practice. The panel will discuss the challenges and strategies when dealing with such proceedings, including issues that arise when government coordination may result in a determination of a "joint" rather than a parallel matter.
